HIT Staffing Assessment Services

The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONCHIT) has projected that the current demand for HIT resources outstrips the supply by more than 50,000 workers.  That shortage is growing with the additional resource needs brought on by Meaningful Use, health reform and ICD – 10 CM/PCS. This is increasing the difficulty for healthcare organizations to hire and afford the additional resources required to address the current industry transformation.

These services evaluate the hospital’s current HIT staff in terms of numbers and skill sets compared to current needs as well as projected requirements for the future. A roadmap is developed projecting the appropriate staffing complement required to meet the hospital’s short and long term goals and objectives and recommended hiring timeframes and options to consider.

Avery Partners Healthcare also provides retention strategy services to assist the hospital in developing an HIT retention program.  The various staffing engagements can take from 2 to 8 weeks to complete.
